Good quality product, but possibly a little bit expensive for what is basically just a block of cardboard. It's worth keeping the scratch pad in the box (just remove the top surface) as this keeps the cardboard scrapings more or less in one place.
Bought this to replace the self-heating pad which has been in the kennel for several years & become very tatty. The cat was initially a bit miffed by the change, but has now made herself at home. This mattress is a lot thicker than the original pad and fits well in the kennel without sliding around. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that I don't like the paw print design - from a distance they look like dirty marks.

The Katden is solid but light and well-made. I bought a grey one but there are loads of other colours available which is great and I did struggle to decide which to have. I bought the basic one without a door etc and Barney was trying to get in it as I was unpacking it in the house. He was a bit unsure of it at first but I bribed him with some treats to get him used to it. I bought the basic model without a door etc but because of the overhang the rain can't get in it. I have put two foam gardening kneeling pads in in, with an old cushion cover on top, which seems to be fine. Although Barney doesn't go in it all of the time, he does use it when there is a sudden downpour and he is snug and dry. Great product and I would definitely recommend this to others.
