New Payment Option For Online Petshop Customers

Plymouth based online pet shop, The Pet Express (http://www.thepetexpress.co.uk), a Pet Care Trust member, has recently expanded the range of payment options, for customers using their website to purchase any of the 18,000 quality pet supply products listed on the site. The retailer, who recently reported a bumper year of sales, and is on track to post the highest monthly turnover in the company’s history, has launched the Google Checkout facility within the existing shopping cart.

Up until this point, the options for paying for items bought on the site have been limited to Paypal, card payments and cheques. The introduction of Google Checkout will allow customers the option of passing rapidly through a payment service that looks set to be the most popular way of buying online in the near future. In addition to being able to access Google Checkout from the shopping cart, customers who find the site from the company’s sponsored product listings within the Google search engine interface will be able to see that Google Checkout is available, as the logo will appear within the advert.

David Burgess, owner of The Pet Express, is delighted by this latest development to the highly popular website.

“We’ve always been interested in providing as many alternative payment options as possible for our customers on the site, and Google Checkout is an option that we are particularly excited about. Being able to see that we offer Google Checkout from our adverts is a great bonus for customers who know what they want and how they wish to pay for it. People who shop online do so because it takes less time than going to the shops, so we want to do everything that we can to ensure that that process is as simple and smooth as we can make it” said Mr Burgess, earlier.

The Pet Express is already one of the leading online retailers of pet supplies within the UK, with rapid sales growth, both on the company’s main website and from their EBay shop (http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/The-Pet-Express), where they are a top rated seller. The company, which also has branches of its Ark Pet Shop in Plymouth, Exeter and around the Paignton area, are expecting sales growth to remain strong as the nation economy recovers from the recession and customers are increasingly able to afford to keep pets.

More information on the The Pet Express can be found on the company’s website, as well as via their Twitter Feed (http://twitter.com/thepetexpress) and Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Pet-Express/318469843968).

Online Pet Shop Expands Website

UK based online pet shop The Pet Express (http://thepetexpress.co.uk) has expanded their website to include an entirely new section. Titled The Pet Expert, this additional part of the site aims to help The Pet Express connect with its customers. The section has been divided into categories of content, including Product News, Pet Owner Information and General Information. There is even a section dedicated to Press Releases.

The Pet Expert is further categorised according to the type of pet being discussed. As owner David Burgess explains, this will make it easier for site users to find the content they are looking for.

“The problem with providing interesting news and information for pet owners is that people are only interested in the particular creatures that they own. By dividing the site by pet, visitors to the site will be able to look at information that is tailored specifically to their pet, without having to search through many articles that simply aren’t relevant to them.”

The new part of the website aims to add a human face to the online retail business. “In the past, the only information on the site has been lists of products for customers to buy. We felt that what our customers wanted was a section on the site where they could talk to us about their pets and we could answer their questions. In our branches – located in Plymouth, Exeter and the Paignton area of Devon – we take the time to talk to our customers and provide them with as much advice and information as possible, and for a long time now we’ve been looking at ways to offer the same service on our website.”

As well as The Pet Expert, the company’s online presence now includes a Twitter Feed (http://twitter.com/thepetexpress) and a Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Pet-Express/318469843968)
