Groundhog Day

Well in case you missed it, yesterday was Groundhog Day and if you believe in the ramblings of Punxsutawney Phil, then you should prepare for another six weeks of winter!

Of course, not everyone will believe what this North American Marmot has to say, but when the Met Office suggests that we could be in for a rather prolonged cold spell, then I think we need to take it more seriously!

If you are one of the millions of Brits that has pets you will appreciate how vulnerable they are at this time of year, and whether you are a fan of doggy clothing or not, a good winter dog coat will help prevent your faithful friend catching a chill when you go out for a walk.

There are many great dog coats available that are practical rather than “fashionable” such as those in our Muddy Paws collection, so you can dress your dog in style and keep him/her warm in the process.

If you have rabbits, it is a great idea to cover their rabbit hutch with a weather shield and move it into a warmer area such as your shed or conservatory.  Plenty of extra warm bedding and perhaps a little extra food will help them to remain warm and healthy throughout this cold spell.

If you are unable to move your rabbit’s hutch why not consider one of the portable rabbit hutches available such as those in the Mr. Snugs collection. Small, compact and perfect for keeping you bunnies indoors during a cold spell, they are a great investment that you will use over and over again.

Unfortunately our own pets cannot talk like Punxsutawney Phil, so we have to be one-step ahead and make sure they remain happy and healthy until spring arrives!
